ZJTIE Delegation Visits Pakistan to Launch China-Pakistan Digital Trade Silk Road College
April 14-18, 2025 – Nie Hua, Vice President of Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics (ZJTIE), led a delegation to Pakistan, where the China-Pakistan Digital Trade Silk Road College was officially established through a signing ceremony. Mr. Zhao Shiren, Chinese Consul General in Lahore, attended the event and praised the institute’s model, positioning, and functions. He emphasized its significance and expressed hope that it would become a new benchmark for China-Pakistan collaboration, contributing to both nations' development.
The establishment of the institute garnered widespread attention, with coverage from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, Pakistan’s The Nation, and Urdu Point.
Following the ceremony, the delegation visited the Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) ,which is also a UNEVOC Centre, and the Government Technical Training Institute Gulberg Lahore, engaging in-depth discussions on enhancing vocational education cooperation. Both sides reached a consensus on elevating the China-Pakistan Digital Trade Silk Road College as a high-quality initiative.
During the visit, the institute’s first training session commenced, with Nie Hua presiding over the opening ceremony. Delegation members Ping Ping and Wang Junhai conducted e-commerce skills training for employees of Chinese enterprises in Pakistan, followed by online Q&A sessions.
This visit strengthened ZJTIE’s ties with Pakistan’s UNEVOC Centres and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. Moving forward, ZJTIE will partner with governments, enterprises, institutions, and industries from both countries to develop practical, high-impact vocational education projects under the institute’s framework, supporting Chinese businesses in Pakistan and fostering enduring bilateral friendship.
Background:
ZJTIE’s cooperation with Pakistan has deepened over time. On November 7, 2024, Ye Linliang, a member of ZJTIE’s Party Committee, led a team to Weifang, Shandong, for the China-Pakistan Digital Education Promotion Conference, where ZJTIE and TEVTA Punjab signed an agreement on digital skills talent development, outlining plans for internationalizing ZJTIE’s e-commerce teaching resources and establishing the institute.
Later, at the invitation of the Pakistani Embassy in China, Ye Weijiang,secretary of ZJTIE’s party committee, attended the China-Pakistan Vocational Education and Training Cooperation Forum in Beijing on December 19, 2024. As a panelist, he shared ZJTIE’s international exchange achievements and future cooperation plans, and met with H.E. Khalil Hashmi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China.
