ZJTIE Holds Opening Ceremony for 2025 Sino-UK Joint Program
September 23, ZJTIE held the opening ceremony for the 2025 Sino-UK joint program. In attendance were Carla Gethin, Interim Vice Principal of City of Glasgow College., UK; Jacqueline Anne, Associate Director of Business Partnerships of City of Glasgow College; Ye Linliang, Member of the School Party Committee and Minister (Director) of the Organization Department (Talent Office); heads of various departments including the Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, and Modern Logistics School; homeroom teachers of the 2025 joint program class; and all the new students. The ceremony was presided over by Li Xiaoyang, Director of Foreign Affairs Office and Dean of International Education School.
Ye Linliang delivered an enthusiastic speech, introducing ZJTIE's history and international achievements, and reviewing the development journey of the Sino-UK joint program. He also extended his hopes to the new students, encouraging them to cultivate a global perspective and mindset, develop sound character and physical health, accumulate profound humanistic knowledge and scientific literacy, and embody both lofty aspirations and down-to-earth diligence.
Carla Gethin expressed her welcome and congratulations to the new students in her speech. She noted the long-standing and fruitful collaboration between the two institutions and encouraged the new students to focus on knowledge acquisition during their studies, aiming to become professionals with cross-cultural competence.
Representatives of the Sino-UK joint program, Mao Lurong and Zeng Zijing, also addressed the ceremony. Ms Mao shared her expectations for the new students, urging them to strive for excellence, enhance their comprehensive qualities, and become highly skilled talents needed by future society. Zijing expressed her anticipation for the upcoming academic life, pledging to seize the day and live up to her youth, striving to write a chapter worthy of the times.
Following the speeches, Ye Linliang, on behalf of ZJTIE, presented Carla Gethin with a letter of appointment as a guest professor.
After the opening ceremony, Carla Gethin delivered a lecture titled Your Journey in Supply Chain Management: Skills, Opportunities, and Global Impact to the new students of the collaborative program class.
