Zhejiang-Aksu Launch Silk Road College with Uzbekistan
Recently, a delegation consisting of the Foreign Affairs Office, the School of General Education, and the School of Automotive Technology visited Aksu. Representing ZJTIE, they formally signed the “New Energy Vehicles and Digital Economy Silk Road Academy Project Cooperation Framework Agreement” with Aksu Vocational and Technical College and Aksu Industrial Polytechnic College, and discussed future collaborations. This partnership marks the beginning of a new chapter in joint vocational education internationalization among the three institutions. It aims to deeply integrate high-quality vocational education resources to cultivate highly skilled technical talent for Chinese enterprises in Uzbekistan and support the global expansion of China’s new energy vehicle and digital economy industries.

After multiple rounds of consultations with Uzbek institutions and enterprises, the three Zhejiang-Aksu colleges, together with their Uzbek counterparts, have jointly established a vision for a seven-party collaboration to build the Silk Road College. Prior to this agreement, Tashkent Perfect University, the China-Uzbek EDU Alliance, Tashkent Yuantong Automobile Co., LTD, and Hangzhou Youcai Hantu Overseas Study Service Co., Ltd. had already completed the signing process in Uzbekistan.

The China-Uzbekistan Silk Road College will use Uzbekistan as a pivotal point, focusing on two cutting-edge fields—new energy vehicle technology and the digital economy—to establish a new model of international vocational education cooperation characterized by “collaboration among colleges and enterprises, and coordination between domestic and international efforts.” By integrating the curriculum resources and teaching expertise of the three participating institutions, the college will provide “Chinese language + vocational skills” training and certification for young people in Uzbekistan, offering localized technical talent support for Chinese enterprises operating in the country.
Following the signing ceremony, faculty from the School of Automotive Technology visited the Electromechanical College of Aksu Vocational and Technical College, where they conducted an “Automotive Professional Talent Cultivation Practical Skills Competition” and shared experiences from the “Zhejiang Provincial International College Student Innovation Competition.” After the lectures, the teams from the three Zhejiang-Aksu colleges engaged in further in-depth discussions on topics such as innovation in talent cultivation models, optimization of curriculum systems, and improving student employment quality, with the goal of promoting the substantive development and professional enhancement of the partner institutions.
