ZJTIE Holds Opening Ceremony for 2026 Sino-UK Joint Project

On September 22, ZJTIE grandly held the opening ceremony for the 2026 Sino-UK Joint Projoct. Carla Gethin, Vice Principal of City of Glasgow College (CoGC), Jacqui Massie, Deputy Director of the Business Cooperation Department, Ye Linliang, Member of the Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department (Talent Office) of ZJTIE, heads of departments including the Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, and the School of Modern Logistics, as well as teachers of the 2026 classes and all freshmen attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Li Xiaoyang, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office and Dean of the School of International Education.

Ye Linliang delivered an enthusiastic speech, introducing ZJTIE's educational achievements and the development history of the Sino-UK Joint Projoct. He encouraged all new students to develop a global perspective, cultivate sound character and physical fitness, foster independent thinking ability, and combine lofty aspirations with a down-to-earth spirit.

In her speech, Carla Gethin expressed welcome and congratulations to all freshmen, reviewed the history of cooperation between the two institutions, and hoped that students would make full use of international resources during their studies to become professionals with cross-cultural competence.

Yuan Shou, a teacher representative of the Sino-British cooperative classes, and Wu Jiaxuan, a student representative, also spoke. Yuan Shou expressed expectations for the new students, encouraging them to strive upward and be proactive in becoming high-quality skilled talents needed by society. Wu Jiaxuan expressed anticipation for college life and vowed to strive to improve her comprehensive qualities and write a youthful answer worthy of the times.

After the ceremony, Carla Gethin delivered a lecture titled Where Scottish Education Meets Chinese Ambition for the cooperative class students, providing a detailed introduction to the internationalization features and cooperative programs of Scottish colleges. She encouraged students to actively seize practical opportunities such as internships, competitions, and overseas exchanges, broaden their global horizons, accumulate experience and build personal resumes from the start of enrollment, and lay a foundation for future career development.

On the morning of the same day, the Sino-UK Joint Management Committee held a consultation meeting. The two sides conducted in-depth communication on topics including teaching management, faculty training, language support, and teaching resource alignment for the modern logistics management program, and reached consensus on improvements. They also expressed a shared willingness to carry out scientific research cooperation and cultivate industry-education integration outcomes in fields such as intelligent logistics technology and high-end equipment manufacturing.
