On March 5th, Mr. Robert Parua from UNESCO Beijing Office visited ZJTIE, and Luo Guanglin, party secretary of ZJTIE, Shao Qingxiang, deputy party secretary and president of ZJTIE, Huang Chunlin, vice president and director of external affairs office of ZJTIE met with the guest and expressed warm welcome to him. Mr. Robert Parua briefly introduced UNESCO and invited our college to host the national consultation for UNEVOC centers in China this year. Luo Guanglin, the party secretary of our college appreciated and accepted the invitation to host the national consultation. At the same time, he introduced the development and characteristics of our college, the historical and cultural heritage of Hangzhou, and the development of vocational education in China. Shao Qingxiang, deputy party secretary and president of our college, introduced that our college has close relationships and collaborations with industries and always combines the study in class with the practice in industries. And he also introduced that our college adheres to the teaching philosophy of “students-centered orientation”.
In the afternoon, Mr. Robert Parua gave a lecture about “UNEVOC medium-term strategy- opportunities of engagement and role of the network” in the international cultural exchange center of our college. He introduced UNESCO's global framework for achieving the sustainable development goals and the support and strategy provided by UNESCO for vocational education. At the same time, he pointed out the present situation and existing problems of international vocational education. Many teachers and students from our college listened to the lecture and actively asked questions to participate in the exchange learning. Subsequently, Mr. Robert Parua visited the training rooms of logistic technology department, auto technology department and other different departments of our college. Besides, he participated in the traditional ceremony in which students from dream entrepreneurship department of ZJTIE formally acknowledged the teachers as their masters.Mr. Robert Parua highly praised the traditional ceremony and believed that it would promote the relationship between students and teachers and also strengthen the sense of responsibility of teachers.
